An All Star Day

I was able to meet John's lovely wife Karyn when we got home from Dodgers Stadium Saturday nite.  Sunday we jumped in the car for the drive down to San Diego to partake in the All Star festivities.  First up, was a stop in Capistrano to check out the Mission and have lunch.
Uh guys, it is Sunday at noon, and mass is going on.   Lots of tourists such as ourselves in back taking photos.  I felt odd.
Karyn took this candid picture of me (she did that a lot on Sunday).  I am actually trying to line up a photo, although it looks like I am praying.  I think this is a great photo.

  Mission accomplished!

  The steps at the stadium.

  The Futures Game introductions.
One of the best parks I have seen on this trip.  Maybe it was the All Star festivities, but they had tons of staff looking to assist.  Very short lines everywhere.  Aside from the jacked up parking prices, everything else was extremely reasonable for this type of event.
In between the Futures All Star Game and the Celebrity Softball game, they held the Team Mascot Olympics.  This is from the 3 legged race.  Unfortunately the team with the Tigers mascot Paws came in 2nd.
The Celebrity Softball game came with its usual high jinks and was great fun.  We believe the game will be shown on TV after the actual All Star game on Tuesday.  Watch the shocking ending to the Celebrity game.
How else do you wrap up a day at the ball park, other than with more fireworks.
This was the best day of the trip so far.  Absolutely fabulous!
